Sponsors a Big Part of ISHOF Success

Jan 19th, 2012 In : Events, Important posts By : RKPR 1 Comments Tags: Coalition, Hall of Fame

The RTWGC’s International Sports Hall of Fame Dinner Gala was a memorable evening for the seven inductees and more than 400 attendees at the Atlantis Resort Spa Casino on January 6.  The event was made even more successful by the generous sponsors and contributors who provided everything from the event site, to food and beverage and silent auction items.

“We are so grateful for the businesses and individuals who provided so much to make our dinner gala really shine,” said Jon Killoran, RTWGC Chief Executive Officer.

RTWGC Director of Development Keri Cassinelli, who chaired the Dinner Gala Committee, echoed Killoran’s sentiments especially in light of the event’s November 18 postponement.

“When the Caughlin Fire caused us to reschedule the dinner gala, we didn’t really know what to expect.  Thankfully all of our sponsors and contributors understood and continued to support us.  We are forever thankful for their tremendous generosity.”

Special thanks to RTWGC PR/Marketing Committee Chair Steve Trounday, Vice Chair Ronele Klingensmith and the entire team at RKPR Inc., as well as committee member Carole Lombardi for all their work to publicize our event and to handle media needs during the evening.

Special thanks to the Wooster High School ROTC for presenting the colors to start the night and to Cadet Sergeant Devonne Sonuga for her beautiful rendition of the National Anthem.

The RTWGC Board and Staff also thank the all-volunteer Event Committee for their tireless efforts to organize and put the event on not once, but twice:

A Little History

The Reno-Tahoe region has been involved in a number of bid efforts including the 1955 bid developed by Alex Cushing of Squaw Valley USA, a bid that resulted in Squaw Valley hosting the 1960 Winter Olympic Games. The award was considered a major upset defeating Innsbruck, Austria in one of the closest votes in IOC history. For the first time since 1932, an Olympic Winter Games was to be staged in the United States. The Reno-Tahoe Olympic legacy had begun... More History
