High-ranking officials from the World Curling Federation (WCF) and the United States Curling Association (USCA) will be in Reno-Tahoe next week to visit potential host resort properties for the WCF Congress during the late summer of 2014.

During their visit, WCF Secretary General Colin Grahamshaw and USCA Chief Operating Officer Rick Patzke will visit properties in the Truckee Meadows as well as the Tahoe Basin that have expressed an interest in hosting the weeklong event.

“We’re excited to take this next step in preparing for the WCF Congress next year,” Jon Killoran, RTWGC Chief Executive Officer said. “We know the participating resorts are rolling out a wide array of accommodations and meeting amenities for the curling federations to consider when choosing a host location.”

This will mark the first time that the WCF Congress will be held in North America.  It brings together all the high ranking officials of the curling federation as well as some of the sport’s top stakeholders.  Currently, the WCF has chosen to hold its congress in Reno-Tahoe from August 25 – September 1, 2014.  This year’s event will take place during the final week of August in Copenhagen, Denmark.
