• July 2007 – Selection of the 2014 Winter Games host city - Sochi, Russia.

• Summer 2008 – the Beijing (China) Olympic Summer Games will be staged from August 8-24, 2008.
   
• March 2009 - Olympic Youth Games questionnaires developed by National Organizing Committees - USOC for the U.S.
   
• Spring 2009 - The IOC will cut to a "Short List" for the 2016 Olympic Summer Games.
  
  
• Summer 2009 – the IOC will call for nominations from national Olympic Committees around the world (the USOC from the U.S.) for the 2018 Games.
  
  
• Summer 2009 through Spring of 2011 - International competition for 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
  
  
• Fall 2009 - Selection of the 2016 Olympic Summer Games host city.
  
  
• Fall 2009 - Anticipated decision by the USOC to move forward with a potential 2018 Olympic Winter Games bid.
  
  
• February and March 2010 - IOC on-site evaluations for potential 2018 host cities.
  
  
• May 2010 - Submission of IOC Site Selection Task Force for potential 2018 Olympic Winter Games host cities.

• Winter 2010 – the Vancouver (Canada) Olympic Winter Games will be staged from February 12-28, 2010.

• Summer 2011 – Selection of the 2018 Winter Games host city.

• Summer 2012 – Hosting of the 2012 Olympic Summer Games in London, England
